Available vaccines Since the area specific TBE vaccine recommendations were implemented in
Norway in 2009, on average 17,424 doses of TBE-vaccine were distributed
annually (2009-2018). On average, 23% have been pediatric doses.

People who spend a lot of time outdoors in areas with a known risk of TBE
Vaccination infection (Table 1) should consider TBE vaccination. This recommendation
recommendations and applies especially to people who often get tick bites such as forestry
reimbursement workers, orienteers, and others who spend much time outdoors. There is no

In Norway, all immunizations should be registered into the national
immunization register, SYSVAK. According to SYSVAK, almost 19,000 persons
have received at least 3 doses of TBE vaccine. There is no information about
risk factors in the register.
Vaccine uptake
For vaccines outside the childhood immunization program, registration into
by age group/risk
group/general SYSVAK is consensual. The number of doses actually given therefore could
population be higher than the numbers registered, and this is probably the case for TBE
vaccine, as the number of doses distributed is higher than the number of
doses entered into the register.
